Skorpios II - Chonos Route
Season September 2009 to April 2010
An unforgettable journey through the beautiful fjords of Southern Chile. Discover a land of snow-capped mountains, impenetrable forests and transparent waters and visit the picturesque fishing villages of this remote region.
Contemplate a scenery of constant changes culminating in a powerful display of light, shapes and colours with the 30,000 years old San Rafael Glacier.
SATURDAY DEPARTURES (PUERTO MONTT TO PUERTO MONTT) |

| Day 1 (Saturday) | Depart from Puerto Montt and sail through the Llanquihue Archipelago, the Gulf of Ancud, the legendary Chiloé Archipelago and finally the Gulf of Corcovado. |
| Day 2 (Sunday) | Sail through the Moraleda and Ferronave channels to the village of Puerto Aguirre. After a brief stop continue through Pilcomayo and Costa Channels before anchoring 30 Kms from the San Rafael Glacier. |
| Day 3 (Monday) | Sail through the Canal de los Témpanos (Channel of Icebergs) and enter the San Rafael Lagoon. Depending on weather conditions board motor boats to approach the San Rafael Glacier (60 mts high). Take a close look at the shaped and coloured icebergs. Overnight sailing towards the Quitralco Fjord. |
| Day 4 (Tuesday) | At leisure in the Quitralco Fjord where it will be possible to swim in pools heated by natural hot springs, take a boat excursion through the fjord, or simply walk to the viewpoint. Continue overnight to Melinka Island. |
| Day 5 (Wednesday) | Sail through the Leucayec Channel within sight of Melinka Island, once a refuge to dreaded pirates. Continue the journey across the Gulf of Corcovado and arrive at Castro on Chiloé Island. |
| Day 6 (Thursday) | Morning free in Castro, famous for its colourful churches and 'palafitos' (wooden houses on stilts). Sail back towards Puerto Montt. |
| Day 7 (Friday) | Arrive in Puerto Montt and disembark after breakfast. |
NOTES
Itinerary subject to changes according to navigation and weather
conditions.
Transfer by private bus from the Punta Arenas airport to Skorpios
terminal in Puerto Natales during boarding day and vice versa
during disembarkation.
Land and boat excursions according to the itinerary.
Full board daily on board (breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner)
including open bar (alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages).
Skorpios II - Chonos Route
Season September 2010 to April 2011
SATURDAY DEPARTURES (PUERTO MONTT TO PUERTO MONTT) |

| Day 1 (Saturday) | At midday set sail from the Skorpios Terminal in Puerto Montt through the Llanquihue archipelago. Cross the Gulf of Ancud, the Chiloé archipelago and the Gulf of Corcovado at midnight. |
| Day 2 (Sunday) | At 08:00 hours navigate through the Moraleda and Ferronave channels. Arrival at the fishing village of Puerto Aguirre at 11.00 hours. Possibility to disembark for a walk up a small hill to enjoy (weather permitting) spectacular views of the fjords. At 12.30 hours continue sailing through the Ferronave, Pilcomayo and Costa channels. At approximately 21.30 hours anchor at Hualas cove or Punta Leopardos, 20 nautical miles from the San Rafael Glacier. |
| Day 3 (Monday) | At 07.30 hours cross the San Rafael Lagoon and Tempanos channel where the ship will anchor approximately 2 Kms from the glacier. Weather permitting there will be boat excursions to get close to the glacier and appreciate its colourful icebergs. At around 17:00 hours set sail to the Quitralco fjord. |
| Day 4 (Tuesday) | At 08:00 hours berth at the Quitralco pier where you will be able to disembark and enjoy the hot springs in covered and outside pools (average water temperature between 30°C and 32°C). Weather permitting there will be boat excursions inside of the fjord. At 19:00 hours sail towards Chiloé navigating through the Moraleda and Perez Norte Channels. |
| Day 5 (Wednesday) | At 08:00 hours cross the Gulf of Corcovado. If the conditions allow it there might be the possibility of watching humpback whales and blue whales. Continue to sail through the oriental coast of Chiloé Island and the Yal channel arriving at Castro at 15:00 hours. Disembark for a visit before setting sail again at 22:00 hours towards Puerto Montt through Lemuy, Dalcahue and Quicavi Channels. |
| Day 6 (Thursday) | At 08:00 hours dock at the Skorpios Terminal pier in Puerto Montt and disembark at 09:00 hours. |
