Daily departures
Day 1
Cuzco/Challacancha/Sorayapampa
Early morning transfer from Cuzco to Mollepata (a small
town located 2 hours from Cuzco) which is the start of your trek.
Start your walk to Challacancha and after lunch continue as far
as Sorayapampa, your first camp (Altitude: 3,900 mts). (L,D)
Day 2 Sorayapampa /
Salkantay / Qolcapampa
Early start making your way towards the high snow
mountain of Salkantay where you will have the opportunity to
enjoy fantastic views of this mountain. Then descend towards the
cloud forest as you begin to enter this area where the vegetation
and wildlife will become abundant. Reach Qolcapampa, your second
camp (Altitude:3,300 mts). (B,L,D)
Day 3 Qolcapampa /
Lucmabamba
After breakfast there will be time to bath in the local
hot springs and the on to La Playa where it is possible to fish
before continuing to Lucmabamba. Camp and overnight.(B,L,D)
Day 4 Lucmabamba / San
Miguel Valley
After breakfast trek to an area well known for its
special eco-system. In the afternoon continue your trek to arrive
close to the back of Machu Picchu and the San Miguel Valley. Camp
and overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 5 San Miguel Valley/
Machu Picchu / Cuzco
Early morning bus to the Inca
Citadel for your guided visit. There will be time to walk up the
Huayna Picchu trail before transferring back to Cuzco by train
(Backpacker class). (B)
