Day 1
Board MV Stella Australis or MV Via Australis from the pier in
Punta Arenas and begin your journey along Darwin's Route.
Day 2
Continue sailing at dawn through the Almirantazgo Fjord until you
reach Ainsworth Bay where, from afar, you can see the Marinelli
Glacier standing 40 metres tall. Disembark to visit a colony of
Elephant Seals and, after a brief walk, arrive at a beaver dam.
In the afternoon visit Tucker Islet where you will sight colonies
of Magellanic penguins and cormorants from zodiac boats. The
islets penguins migrate in April as a replacement a
visit to Brookes Bay for a short walk to see a glacier is
organised.
Day 3
Navigate along the main part of the Beagle Channel to reach Pia
Fjord where you will disembark near the Pia Glacier. Take a short
hike to a look-out point with a spectacular view of the entire
glacier tongue, stretching from high in the mountains all the way
to the sea. Then continue sailing along the northwest arm of the
Beagle Channel through majestic Glacier Alley.
Day 4
Sail through the Beagle Channel and Murray Channels to disembark
in the Cape Horn National Park (weather permitting). Cape Horn is
a natural sea wall almost 425 metres high that was discovered on
30 January, 1616 by a commercial expedition from the Netherlands
and owes its name to the Port of Hoorn from which the expedition
originated on 14 June, 1615. In the afternoon go ashore in
historic Wulaia Bay, once the site of one of the regions
largest aboriginal settlements. This area is also renowned
for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography.
Walk through a Magellanic forest of Lengas, Coigues, Canelos,
ferns and other native vegetation.
Day 5
Arrive in Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego and disembark at around
0800 AM. (For those doing the 7-Night Punta Arenas to Punta
Arenas cruise, optional excursions are offered such as a visit to
Tierra del Fuego National Park & Lapataia Bay).

Day 1
Board MV Stella Australis or MV Via Australis from the pier in
Ushuaia and begin your journey along Darwin's Route.
Day 2
Disembark in the Cape Horn National Park. Cape Horn is a natural

Day 3 (Friday)
In the morning sail through the desolate Brecknock and Ocasion
channels, to reach Cockburn Channel in the afternoon. Arrive at
the Chico Sound and disembark in Zodiac boats to explore Alakaluf
Fjord with its beautiful waterfalls and observe te Piloto and
Nena glaciers from the sea.
Day 4 (Saturday)
Early in the morning disembark at Magdalena Island (weather
permitting), home to an immense colony of Magellanic penguins and
walk to the San Isidro Lighthouse which once guided sailors
through the Straits of Magellan. In September and April this
excursion is replaced by a Zodiac boat ride at Santa Marta Island
to observe sea lions. Continue to Punta Arenas and disembark at
approximately 11:30 AM.
For those doing the 7-Night Ushuaia to Ushuaia cruise, optional
excursions can be arranged such as a city tour of Punta Arenas.
Please note that you can combine above cruises (3 & 4 nights) for your 7 nights navigation amongst incredible scenery.
