Costa Rica Highlights
Daily Departures

Day 1
Depart London with Iberia via Madrid to San José. Arrive and transfer to the Hotel Alta (Superior) for a stay of two nights.

Day 2 – Poas Volcano
Half day visit to the Poas Volcano.  With a diameter of 1.5 Km, the active crater is reportedly one of the widest in the world. If it is clear enough to see to the bottom of the 300-meter deep crater you will be able to see some type of activity ranging from fumaroles to bubbling emissions on the surface of the small rain-filled lake to actual geyser-type eruptions. (Breakfast)

Day 3 - Tortuguero
Depart for a two night trip to the Tortuguero National Park staying at the Pachira Lodge (Tourist). Drive through the protected area of Braulio Carrillo National Park until boarding a comfortable boat to start travelling the Tortuguero Canals.  Afternoon visit to the museum, the beach and the small picturesque town of Tortuguero. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4
Enjoy nature at its best as you undertake a journey through the canals for birdwatching and as you walk on the nature trails around the lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5 - Arenal
At the agreed time transfer to Arenal for a stay of two nights at the Hotel Arenal Paraiso (Tourist).  On the way to Arenal's moonlike landscape the scenery is of lush vegetation with a variety of bromeliads, orchids and heliconias. The active Arenal volcano periodically erupts, rumbling as it sends clouds of smoke and ash into the sky.  Weather permitting, you will be able to witness a night eruption with its spectacular colours. (Breakfast)

Day 6
Enjoy a full day excursion to Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, a humid biological area considered to be one of the richest for biological diversity in Costa Rica. Here you can find a great variety of endemic and migratory birds in addition to monkeys, iguanas, sloths, turtles and caimans. (Breakfast, Box Lunch)

Day 7 – Monteverde
At the agreed time you will be taken to Monteverde for a stay of two nights at the Hotel Fonda Vela (Tourist/Superior). (Breakfast)

Day 8
Half day excursion to the walkways at Selvatura where from the bridges you can easily observe a wide variety of plants and animals and insects, some of which can only be found on the upper elevations of the forest canopy.

Day 9 - Manuel Antonio
At the agreed time overland transfer (approximately 4½ hours) to Manuel Antonio for a stay of four nights at the Hotel Costa Verde (Tourist/Superior). (Breakfast)

Days 10-12
At leisure to enjoy the beautiful beaches or for optional visits to the Manuel Antonio National Park with its enchanting white sand beaches and the tropical forest alive with wildlife such as monkeys and iguanas. (Breakfast)

Day 13
At the agreed time you will be taken back to San José on time for your overnight flights to London via Madrid with Iberia.

Day 14
Arrive in London.
